THE Tudor age will come back to life to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the warship Mary Rose being raised from the Solent seabed.
Events planned this month to mark yesterday's anniversary include displays of bow-making, medical science and everyday life from the 16th century.
This weekend bowyer-fletcher Hilary Greenland will be making longbows and arrows using traditional techniques.
On October 21-22 the gruesome contents of the barber-surgeon's quarters will be on show, including replica instruments modelled on those found on the wreck.
To round off the celebrations the everyday Tudor world will be brought to life by actors on the weekend of October 28-9.
All the events will take place at the Mary Rose Flagship in Portsmouth, at the Historic Dockyard, between 10am-5pm, and are open to ticket holders.
