Associated British Ports, owners and operators of Southampton docks, is making a safe start to the next millennium with a new training iniative.
Accredited safety courses from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IoSH) will be run for the group's employees throughout the new year.
"Safe places of work and safe systems of work do not just happen,'' said ABP group chief executive Bo Lerenius. "Safety has always been a high priority to the group and this new safety training programme will ensure all our employees receive an appropriate level of training. This further reinforces our commitment to the highest standards of safety at our ports and in all our operations.''
The IoSH is Europe's leading body representing health and safety professionals, with more than 25,000 members.
