HEDGE END continued to wreak havoc among the Hampshire League Division 2 leaders when they overpowered Queens Keep 5-0 on Saturday.
Just seven days after ripping up Micheldever's 100 per cent league record, the Hedgemen condemned Queens to their first defeat, establishing a two-goal bridgehead by half-time then emphatically finishing the job off as Queens had two sent off in the second-half.
Brett, Draper, Andy Davies (with a sweetly struck 30-yarder) and Matt Davies paved the way for victory before John McFarlane finished the job with two goals.
It was also a day of reckoning for former Premier Division leaders Ringwood Town, whose unbeaten record was destroyed by Lymington Town at Long Lane.
After a goalless first-half Lymington took charge with goals from Lee Gallagher and Dave Perrett, Perrett's coming from a hotly-disputed penalty. Brian Rolfe pulled one back for Ringwood but when Ben Antell deflected a cross into his own net, it was all up for Ringwood.
Locks Heath had their keeper John Harrison sent off for a professional foul but still beat Romsey Town 4-1 to go top of the Premier. Neil Stocks, Dave Hepple and Mark Jones with a brace were Locks' marksmen.
Simon Stutheridge gave Amesbury a first-minute lead against Blackfield & Langley who fought back to win 4-3 in a contest in which no-one was yellow carded. Blackfield equalised in the first minute of the second half, going on to win it thanks to Martin Speirs (2), Richard Delaro and an own goal from Gareth Horner.
Bishop's Waltham hit back from a goal down to win the derby match against Colden Common thanks to strikes from Neil Channon and Pete Williams. Pirelli twice clawed back the arrears during the second-half to force a 2-2 draw with New Street. Jimmy Lord and Pete Kelly were the men on the mark.
Tim Boennic scored twice for Otterbourne as they checked Winchester Castle's strong run in Division 1 with a 4-0 win. Stu Vickers and Andy Kirby got the others.
Young Paul Underwood did a fine job containing the prolific Paul McFarlane as Hamble Club pegged new Division 2 leaders AFC Portchester 0-0.
