SOLENT Stars are hoping to bring back the glory days in more ways than one at Fleming Park tonight (8pm).
Not only do they have a Uni-ball Trophy upset over Dairylea Dunkers outfit London Leopards in their sights, but Stars will reintroduce last season's admission prices for fans sporting official club colours.
"We want to reward our supporters for their loyalty, so anyone who comes along tonight wearing a Solent Stars hat, cap, t-shirt, shorts or whatever will get in for the same price as last season which means £4 instead of £6.50 for adults and £2.50 instead of £3.50 concessions," explained player-coach Alan Cunningham.
Attendances at Fleming Park have been disappointing this season, but those lucky enough to witness Stars embarrassing Derby Storm 100-86 in their Uni-ball opener will know that Cunningham isn't joking when he says that his National Division 1 champions can break the Dairylea monopoly and qualify from Pool A.
"I think we'll beat the Leopards tonight and I believe we're good enough to get through to the next stage of the competition," he insists.
Leopards top the group having beaten Derby 95-91 in overtime on Tuesday night and already the Londoners have triumphed 110-88 at Fleming Park this season in the National Cup. But Stars have come on in leaps and bounds since then with the experienced additions of Chris Harper and Mark Scott.
