A SOUTHAMPTON MP went into cyberspace to help his constituents - by holding a virtual surgery at the weekend. High-tech Test MP Alan Whitehead offered to solve residents' problems over the Internet. All constituents who e-mailed their problems between 10am and 11.30am were guaranteed an answer by the end of the day. The virtual surgery coincided with the launch of the MP's own website, which gives information on his work in the House of Commons and the constituency.
Mr Whitehead said: "The web offers exciting opportunities for me to develop even better contacts with my constituents.
The MP can be e-mailed on post@alan-whitehead.org.uk and his internet site is www.alan-whitehead.org.uk
