ORE than 60 jobs have been saved in the region after Sherwin Oliver negotiated the sale of collapsed Hampshire engineering firm Queensbury International.
The Portsmouth firm called in receivers earlier this month, but the engineering company has now been bought by Queensbury Shelters and is being run by two ex-managers.
Rob Pilch and Dave Mundy have moved with the business and are now responsible for the day-to-day operations of Queensbury, which specialises in building bus shelters and supermarket trolley parks.
Together, they have more than 30 years' experience in the business. They praised company and commercial lawyer Nigel Craig for his handling of the deal.
"Everything was completed quickly and with sensitivity in what could have been a very tricky situation,'' said Mr Pilch.
Talking about their plans for the future, he said: "The new owner is keen to develop and promote Queensbury, and with our inside knowledge of the company we are ideally placed to see the growth potential within what is a sound operation.
"We anticipate no job losses, and are, in fact, planning in due course to take on new people in Cosham and Hilsea."
Queensbury markets its products in the UK and abroad and last year had a turnover in excess of £5 million.
