Two Young Saints are whistle happy after being nominated for community service awards.
Our picture shows Carl Stevenson and Richard Charrett (right) who have been rewarded for acting as referees at the club's Saturday morning fun sessions at Oaklands.
The pair began by playing but were then asked by coach Mike Harvey to help out with coaching and refereeing. Since then they have selflessly given up their Saturday mornings to help with the sessions and hope that one day they will get the chance to coach with Saints.
Carl, 13, goes to Redbridge Community School and has been at Oaklands for four years. He also helps with the club's coaching courses during the school holidays. Richard, 12, is at Romsey School and has been playing for seven years and has helped at Oaklands for the last four.
Harvey said: "We congratulate them on their achievement which is well deserved. Both show a lot of dedication and enthusiasm and we are proud of both."
Youngsters wishing to take part in the next coaching courses have until Friday to register. There are vacancies at Crestwood School, Eastleigh, Mountbatten School, Romsey, and Perins School, Alresford.
Cost is £40 for Young Saints and £45 for non-members. Full details and bookings on 01703 334172.
