Pompey'S Andy Petterson shapes up to face his former side today requesting no increase in his workload - but with one notable exception.

"I haven't been very busy in the past few games except picking the ball out of the net," says the goalkeeper, who faces table-topping Charlton Athletic at Fratton Park.

Petterson has had the luxury of two clean sheets this season against Stockport and Huddersfield and has been on the receiving end of some hefty back-bending exercise against Barnsley and Crystal Palace.

Even Pompey's win at Tranmere was punctured by the concession of two goals but Petterson says: "It seems strange to say but I've not actually been that busy. We've let some bad goals in but we seem to get punished for every mistake we make. It sounds daft but other than the goals I've let in, I've not had much to do in games."

Although injuries meant Petterson saw out the end of Charlton's Premiership stay last season, he saw the writing on the wall that said manager Alan Curbishley had no room for him.

"He thought it was time for me to move on and in the end so did I. There's no hard feelings about it now and even if there were at the time, that's all water under the bridge.

"It's not like being an outfield player who can influence a game to try and beat his old side. All I can do between the posts is to try and keep them out and make sure they don't score."
