Famous British ballet dancer Moira Shearer wowed audiences in the film The Red Shoes.
Now the ballet shoes she wore for the 1948 film are on proud display at the Naval Submarine Museum, Haslar Jetty Road, Gosport.
The beloved ballet dancer, married to media commentator Ludovic Kennedy, was happy to hand them over to the museum as a way to commemorate his life in the navy before becoming a television and newspaper star.
The shoes are on display at the moment to coincide with a showing of the film at Havant arts centre.
The film, produced in colour, tells the story of a girl who commits suicide after being torn between love and her career as a dancer.
