Southampton Ladies turned a tremendous performance to topple South League leaders Tulse Hill on their own patch last weekend.

They got off to a flying start when teenager Debbie Walker picked up the ball on the 25 and beat two tackles before shooting home from ten yards after just three minutes.

Southampton went on to dominate the first half but the Londoners slowly fought their way back into the game forcing ten short corners before Southampton caught them on the break late on through Carol House who smacked in a second to seal a deserved victory.

Despite their territorial advantage, Southampton II missed out 1-0 to Aldershot but the thirds gained some revenge by beating Aldershot 3-1 with goals from Clair Slaney, Becky Thornton and Sue Tinson.

Southampton IV led twice through Di Childs and Ros Wellington in a 2-2 draw with Alton and Collette Feeney netted for the fifths who lost 2-1 to Romsey III.

The two under-19 teams opened their league campaigns with impressive victories. Doubles from Emily Swithenbank, Becky Mortimer and Sarah Batchelor plus one from Chloe Grimmett saw the first team thrash Yateley 7-0.

Southampton II overcame Fareham 3-0 courtesy of goals from Emma Winstone (2) and Charlotte Leathen, whilst four-goal Laura Please inspired the under-14 girls to a 5-0 friendly success against Winchester, Hannah Pearce adding a fifth.

Despite their indifferent form of late, City of Portsmouth managed to record their first South League 2 victory of the campaign with a 2-1 win at Worthing courtesy of captain Lisa Finn and Tracy Froggatt.

COP II were overwhelmed 4-0 by Farnborough, the thirds lost 2-0 to Romsey II and COP IV were beaten 4-0 by Southampton University II.

Gosport II picked up their first Hampshire Division 6 points of the season when goals from 11-year-old Samantha Stores and 14-year-old Samantha Clelland gave them a 2-0 success against Basingstoke.

A goal by Lindsey Snowdon helped Gosport under-18s to earn a 1-1 draw with Wimborne Wayfarers, while early efforts from Amy Linford and Heather Hylton secured their under-17s a 2-0 win at Haslemere.

In the county league, Hampshire's under-14 girls drew 0-0 with Middlesex and beat Buckinghamshire 2-0 with strikes from Beth Davies and Katrina Black, while the under-15s won both their matches.

COP's Laura Nicholls and Jo Carter netting in a 2-0 win over Middlesex and Rachel Atkins and Tash Miller were on target in a 2-0 success against Buckinghamshire.
