HAMPSHIRE'S Youth teams travel to Kettering this weekend looking for honours in the British Teenage Open and Inter County Youth KO.
The line-ups put in some training when they travelled to Ringwood for a friendly against neighbours Dorset.
Four players made their debut in the Under-18 side - Ian Hiscock, Matt Williams, Ceri Lacey and Phil Barrs. Only loser was Barrs but that was a case of missed doubles rather than bad darts. All four look good bets for the future.
Other winners in the ten-a-side game were Danny Ballard, James Wade, Jason Crawley, Paul Cox, Mark Perry and Gareth Hayman.
Four girls played, including debuts for Kelly Harty and Kelly Crawley. It was defeat for Harty, along with Laura Power. But victory for Crawley - just like big brother and dad - along with Louise Griffin.
Three of the Under-21 boys were making their first appearance at that level, Danny Ballard, Jason Crawley and James Wade. And all three came away with victories and they were joined by Tony Speight. Shaun Little and Terry Cox were the only players not to hit a winner in that tie.
It was an impressive warm-up and, with two teams entered at Kettering, Hampshire may well be on course for a second Youth KO title.
