STAFF at the Second Chance animal sanctuary had a sad tale to tell this week about lovable old boy, Charlie.
The aged but affectionate beagle-cross has been pining away in the centre's kennels since he was brought in only a fortnight ago.
Sadly, 14-year-old Charlie's own elderly owner had passed away, leaving him deeply upset and without a home.
Co-ordinator at the Mansbridge centre Rose Milne said: "He really doesn't like being in kennels.
"He should be at home by the fireside with a garden to go out and play in.
"At the moment he's lost his owners, he's in kennels and we haven't a bitch to put with him to keep him company - he's lost everything."
But Rose is sure that Charlie's distress won't stop him from settling in with new owners.
She said: "He's a dear little soul, very sweet and very loving -he just wants somebody to cuddle and call his own.
"He always responds to love and affection."
If you feel you can bring some sunshine into Charlie's closing years please contact staff at the centre on 01703 559552. Adopt
