A BANK Holiday festi-val of fun hit Hampshire over the weekend. Revellers had a huge range of activities and events to choose from. All ages were catered for and there was support for a multitude of good causes.
One of the biggest events of the Bank Holiday was staged by Hampshire's Goodwill Fund.
The fund, which raises money to support the county's Fire Victim Support Unit, was at the White Horse pub, Otterbourne, yesterday.
The day was opened by Super Saint, and highlights of the event included go-karts, Casey the Clown, birds of prey displays, pony rides and a car boot sale.
Chairman Paul Freebody said: "It's been fantastic. We've had a good stream of people all day and we couldn't have asked for better weather.
"There were loads of things going on and everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves.''
All money raised through the day goes to help finance the unit, which provides advice and practical aid to fire victims. The unit also had to make an unscheduled exit from the fun in the afternoon, to attend a major house fire in the New Forest.
In Southampton, Swaythling Working Men's Club was hoping for a record-breaking fundraiser.
The club held a fun day with a sponsored head shave, barbecue and raffles, and was hoping to top £1,400 for Southampton General Hospital's children's cancer ward.
Club members Brian Medley and Norman Beesley agreed to lose their locks for charity.
Entertainments manager Nick Horn said: "We've been doing this for about 12 years now and our best one raised £1,400. We're hoping we can beat that and we're confident of doing it - we have got a lot of sup-port from people.''
Southampton shoppers were entertained by street shows as they wandered about the city centre.
Visitors to the Above Bar shopping centre enjoyed music and comedy as they browsed.
Escapology, juggling, acrobatics and circus skills and stunts drew the crowds over the Bank Holiday week-end.
Among the entertainers were mime, juggling and clown artist Jason Maverick who presents Channel 5's Havakazoo programme as well as escapologist Mike Martins.
Yesterday, The Great British Street Show, the action-packed street show of songs, dance and circus skills, hit Southampton.
The events aimed to show the wide range of stores and entertainment on offer in the city centre.
On Sunday, Tesco at Tebourba Way, Southampton, held a fun day for NCH Action For Children, its' chosen charity for the year. Events and activities included a bouncy castle, raffle and various jumble stalls.
Winchester's events included a football tournament in aid of cancer charities at Otterbourne, supported by Gladiator Fox and Hampshire cricketer Robin Smith.
