THERE couldn't have been a better choice of name for this nippy New Zealand, dwarf rabbit than that of an international footballer. As quick on his paws as his Brazilian namesake, Cafu is proving more than a match for his equally energetic owners 13-year-old Hayley, Kerry, 10, and Sean, 7.
Mum Sheena Jones, from Rownhams, has seen the one-year-old picking up speed ever since he was just eight weeks old.
Sheena said: "He was named after the footballer simply because the children liked the name but he's turned out to be very active and very fast.
"When we let him out he has the run of the garden but his speed makes it all the more difficult to catch him when we want to get him back in the cage.
"He knows when he has to go back in and so he shoots off and hides under the bushes."
And it seems that in keeping with his sporty nomenclature Cafu already has a taste for the latest in sportswear.
"He likes to have a cuddle but at the same time he does like to nibble at clothes. Last time, he had a right go at my son's tracksuit zip," added Sheena.
