A POPULAR Hampshire landmark has been put up for sale reluctantly by the family who owns it.
The Clock Tower in Shore Road, Warsash, is currently under offer for a sum in the region of £120,000.
The five-storey building, part home and part-office, stands proudly in the centre of Warsash. It is a turn-of-the-century clock tower, originally constructed to house water tanks that supplied the surrounding homes in the days when Warsash was a small village.
In the 1930s, when modern plumbing systems replaced the tanks, the tower was transformed into a luxurious home and two offices.
John Thompson, from the Park Gate branch of Wellar Eggar, which is handling the sale, describes the property as "a complete one-off".
"This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants a totally unique property."
He added that it would be ideal for someone who didn't mind "living over the shop" as there is living accommodation above the two offices.
And he said interest in the clock tower came from all over the county and even beyond, but hinted that the most genuine offer was local.
