ONE-LEGGED Southampton boy Justin Gregory can continue playing the soccer he loves thanks to the generosity of family and friends.

Dozens of people flocked to a special fun day in the city to help collect £400 cash for on-going repairs to Justin's new artificial leg.

The youngster was fitted with the specially-made limb in May following a Daily Echo campaign to raise the money.

But cash is still needed to ensure the leg stays in tip-top condition and allows Justin to lead the normal life he has dreamed of.

Last weekend saw Justin, of Cumbrian Way, Millbrook, showing visitors to the fun day just how far he had come when he took up his position in front of the goal and challenged all who came to Beat the Goalie.

More than 150 people turned up to the event at Test Park, off Porlock Road, Millbrook, which had support from dozens off businesses across the city who donated goodies and prizes for the day.

The fire service was on hand to encourage people to enter competitions while the army turned up with a special surprise for the youngster of a day out at Marchwood Military Camp and the chance to drive a tank.

Justin's brother Michael got himself into a sticky situation when he volunteered to allow people to throw 30 dozen eggs at him.

After the event, mum Jeanette said: "Justin really had a fantastic time especially when the army turned up and dressed him in combat gear and camouflaged his face.

"And Michael constantly had eggs thrown at him. He looked terrible but it was worth it."
