CAMPER & Nicholsons of Gosport has launched a stunning new aluminium ketch, built for a French business-man to sail round the world. Sea Tenareze has already left the C&N yard under the command of her French skipper to carry her owner and his family on a global cruise into the 21st century.
Managing Director of C&N yachts David Mead, above, commented "The workforce at C&N have done a superb job on this yacht, using unusual materials such as Pear for the interior, our craftsmen have produced a feel of warmth and high quality from this challenging material. The Sea Tenareze project started in 1992 with the owner and his Naval Architect, David Henry, allotting a preliminary design period of three years. The brief was to integrate in 25 metres, a classic looking ketch for family world cruising.
The accommodation would provide four double cabins to include crew quarters. Priorities were to be given to safety, seaworthiness, comfort and performance, in that order.
The resultant design incorporates a large Pilot House including pilot berth, deck saloon with steering and navigation areas. Four en-suite double cabins around a saloon with dining facilities and galley.
