THE popular vicar of Twyford, Owslebury and Morestead is leaving for pastures new.
The Rev Peter Lippiet, 52, has been vicar since 1991 and is leaving in September to become warden of Rydall Hall and vicar of St Mary, Rydall, in the Lake District.
He is married to Maggie, who is very active with Christian Aid in the parishes and city. The couple have three children, Kate, 22, Tom, 21, and Nathaniel, 17, who will stay at Peter Symonds' College to complete his A-level studies.
Mr Lippiet said: "We are sorry to leave this part of the world but it's an exciting challenge in Rydall."
He and Mrs Lippiet are inviting the congregation to visit Rydall. Rooms are available at the retreat at £31 per person for the weekend starting October 1.
He said: "We realise it's an enormously long way away, but if anyone would like to come and use the hall, they would be most welcome."
Booking forms are available from him on 01962 712208.
