THE new Red Funnel Cowes keel-boat sailing championship series set off in style with races marked by special inflatable yacht-racing buoys provided by Associated British Ports in Southampton.
The port has invested in a new set of eight buoys and supported the championship regatta by donating their use for the races.
Over 50 boats attended the four regatta days.
Harbour master Captain James Chestnutt said: "Sailing is an important part of life in this area and we are keen to promote ways in which it can be a safe and enjoyable activity.''
