TV'S gardening golden girl and Romsey lass Charlie Dimmock has signed a book deal rumoured to be worth £500,000.

The Ground Force star, famous for her figure-hugging T-shirts and green wellies, will publish the book called Charlie Dimmock's Fun in the Garden next spring.

Charlie, 32, who works at the Millwater Gardens centre in her home town, has landed the deal from publishing giant Penguin. The deal is another mark of Charlie's blossoming success after Beeb bosses gave the gardener turned sex symbol her own show called Charlie's Army.

The show will see Charlie and a team of volunteers transform communal gardens across the country.
