SALISBURY City Football Club were remaining tight-lipped today after millionaire businessman Raymond McEnhill revealed that he may quit the Wiltshire club.

Manager Geoff Butler delivered a blunt ''no comment'' when tackled about the subject, while McEnhill's friend and accountant Roger Wyke said: ''I've no further comment to make regarding Mr McEnhill's position at Salisbury City Football Club.''

Local businessman McEnhill has bankrolled the club for many years, pumping in thousands of pounds of his own money, and he was the driving force behind their plush new stadium at Old Sarum which bears his name.

Laverstock-based McEnhill, club chairman since 1982, said: ''There comes a time when it's right to move on. If I go, and I genuinely haven't made that decision yet, I might decide to go now, or go at the end of next season.

''I've had very little involvement with the club for a while now. As far as I'm concerned the club is already standing on its own two feet.

''One thing that is for sure is that the club is in a far better shape now than it has been for years.''
