KEEN swimmer Vicky Parker has been making fundraising waves for a Hampshire hospice appeal.
Vicky, 22, of Westwood Gardens, Chandler's Ford, covered about two miles in a sponsored swim of the pool at Eastleigh's Fleming Park Leisure Centre.
Her job as an occupational therapist with Southampton Social Services has involved working with terminally-ill patients.
And she chose West End's Countess Mountbatten House as a target for her fundraising swim.
The new 25-bed unit for the internationally-recognised cancer hospice is expected to be open by the end of the year with an official opening by Prince Charles in the summer of next year.
