Drawn on Bob's Lake Tappin, a Cormorants AC member, caught from the start to quickly draw clear of the field catching carp after carp on the coil feeder and maggot fished tight to the end of the island to finish with 74lb 9oz which comfortably collected the spoils worth £235 and a place in the final in September with a £500 purse to the winner.
Davis Tackle's veteran match angler Terry Hiscock came with a late run of carp - also fishing a feeder to the end of the island on Bob's Lake - to finish second with 60lb 1oz which also books his place in the final. Bournemouth Lodge's Chris Albiston finished third with 53lb 12oz after encoun-tering a quiet spell in the middle of the match from the far end of Bob's Lake.
Cormorants Ray Hayward was fourth with 47lb of carp and bream taken on the long pole and corn. League points leader Cormorants Steve Rochester topped the returns on Tench lake to finish fifth on the day and maintain his position at the top of the table.

The Stoneham Midweek Open went to Geoff Mason who topped the field with a pair of carp for 10lb 8oz taken on the long pole from around the island on the top lake. Mark Fitzgerald finished second with two carp for 10lb 4oz also taken on the pole from around the top island with Pat Doyle third with an 8lb 5oz mixed bag.
The Hordle Midweek Open saw victory for Christchurch AC member Paul Hollyoak who took 42lb 15oz of carp from the margins on Willow Lake to run out a comfortable winner from Christchurch team mate Barry James who took 38lb 1oz of carp from Long Lake on the pole and corn. Rob Browning finished third with 30lb 5oz of carp from Willow from Chris Albiston (Bournemouth Lodge) in fourth with 29lb 11oz and Christchurch Angling Centre's Ron Edwards fifth with 22lb 9oz.
The Bournemouth Lodge Evening Series on Paul Miller's Whitemoor Lakes saw the venue in good form with Paul Whartley taking 34lb 13oz of small carp on the pole and band and pellet to shade Rob Fletcher who took 33lb 14oz of carp to the scales with Wimborne's Steve Nadin third with 29lb. Others: S Halliday 20lb 14oz, I Brittian 19lb 7oz. Saturday sees the eagerly awaited first round of The Reelcare Teams of Four Knockout Cup on Longbridge and with the venue in top form the top three teams could need 140lb of fish to qualify for the area's most prestigious final.
The match should be no more than a stroll in the park for Cormorants B who look to hold far too much experience on the venue for the opposition and only a poor draw can stop them winning. However, non qualification would be unthinkable. Davis Tackle's veterans are more at home on Longbridge than in previous years and should qualify while the third qualifying place should go to Petersfield red who qualified for last year's final.
