CHARITY CASH: Michael Keat presents a cheque to Malcolm Eastwood.
DISABLED Michael Keat is on a roll after donating £271 to charity by completing the ten-mile Great South Run in his wheelchair.
The 28-year-old spina bifida sufferer, of Lyndhurst Road, Gosport, has given the cash to the Fire Service Benevolent Fund.
He took part in the event in Portsmouth in his racing wheelchair last autumn and the money has now been collected and presented to the town's chief fire officer Malcolm Eastwood.
Mr Keat has taken part in about ten marathons and intends to enter the Great South Run again this year.
He said: "I admire the work of the benevolent fund for ill and retired firefighters.
"The fire crews and my friends at Gosport station have inspired me to help their cause."
Mr Eastwood said he was totally impressed by Mr Keat's efforts.
"It is fantastic that he puts others before himself even though he is in a wheelchair. "I am extremely grateful for everything he does for us and regard him as a part of our team," he said.
