SALISBURY'S lethal strike pairing of Matt Tubbs and Paul Sales shared the glory in front of the club's record league attendance at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
Both scored in the second half as Nick Holmes' men defeated Chippenham 2-1 in a thrilling first v second Southern Premier League derby.
The visitors had gone ahead in the opening 45 minutes in front of the highest league gate at the stadium - a whopping 1,907.
That was only the third goal Salisbury had conceded in 13 home league games this season.
But thanks to Tubbs and Sales, who now have 44 league and cup goals between them in 2005/06, Holmes' side are now three points clear of Chippenham at the top with three games in hand.
In two weeks time the Dell legend takes his side to favourites Exeter City for a mouthwatering FA Trophy quarter-final clash.
But Holmes is refusing to look that far ahead at present.
Even though Salisbury claimed a 12th home league win in 13 attempts at the weekend, he said: "The League championship is far from over and it's better that we got three points today than not.
"We have 17 games in 11 weeks and that's tough for a Premierships side, let alone non league.
"We will only think about the FA Trophy game at Exeter in the two days before we go there."
Saturday's game was watched by 200 more than had seen the League Two clash between Bury and Rushden last week.
