Driver suffered minor injuries after lorry overturned
A LORRY driver escaped with minor injuries after his vehicle overturned on a busy Hampshire roundabout.
Emergency crews were called to the Rushington roundabout in Totton yesterday afternoon after the articulated lorry carrying terracotta pots tipped over.
Paramedics treated the driver for shock and leg injuries at the scene, then took him to Southampton General Hospital.
The accident, which caused damage to a lamppost, blocked one lane of the roundabout leaving traffic backed up on Spicers Hill.
Recovery work began at around 1.30pm, half an hour after the lorry, overturned.
A police spokesman said the accident could have been caused by a shift in load on the lorry.
