MORE than 100 firefighters from across Hampshire tackled a blaze that tore through a warehouse last night.
STS Eurolink, based in Andes Road, Nursling, Southampton, was virtually destroyed by the fire which broke out shortly before 11pm.
Ten crews from Redbridge, St Mary's, Romsey, Portchester, Eastleigh, and Beaulieu were at the scene throughout the night.
Several forklift trucks and equipment including bench grinders are understood to have been inside the property.
The business is thought to be a haulage company that specialises in transporting freight and shipping containers around the UK and Europe.
This morning firefighters from Hightown were on the industrial estate where they were still damping down the building.
It is not known what caused the fire but investigations were under way this morning.
A firefighter from Redbridge station in Southampton told the Daily Echo: "When we got there it was only a little bit of smoke to start off but it made very quick progress. It was a very severe fire."
Two aerial ladder platforms and two water carriers as well as breathing apparatus were used to tackle the blaze.
The single storey building, which has a two storey office block attached to it, covers an area of 24 metres by 18 metres.
