PALMERSTON added another trophy to their Hampshire League success when capturing the county two-wood triples' championship.
In a rollercoaster game at Atherley the Fareham club's trio of Andrew Miller, Eric Brierley and Roy Reader went 6-1 down, fought back to lead 9-6 but were 15-14 behind on the 17th before sealing their 22-16 win with seven shots (four and three) on the next two ends against Bill Bailey, Arthur Newland and Terry Barton from Victory.
Marc Rivoira's rink - champions in 2004 - were runners-up this time in the fours after the Loddon Vale quartet fell 26-18 to Norman Hillier, Peter Anthony, Dave Cole and Graham Hillier from Longmeadow.
Behind 10-9 on the eighth Longmeadow managed to double their total over the next five ends to stride 18-10 ahead.
Although Barry Allard, John Merchant, Brian McCoombs and Rivoira halved their deficit with a four, a Longmeadow five all but clinched matters at 24-15 on the 17th.
The result meant that Longmeadow are truly the top fours' club in Hampshire as Linda Hayward's rink had won the ladies' equivalent a fortnight earlier.
