HAMPSHIRE'S under-18 girls have created history by becoming the first side to complete a hat-trick of county championships.
The team managed by Vanessa Raynbird defeated Somerset at Clevedon Town's Hand Stadium to record their third successive county triumph.
Two superb saves by goalkeeper Roxanne Roberts kept Hampshire level in the first half and a strike by Portsmouth teammate Brooke Chaplen in the second period secured the trophy.
The only strike came in the 66th minute when Chaplen picked up the ball in midfield and advanced towards goal.
She side-stepped two tackles before running through to beat the keeper at close range for a fine individual goal.
