THE next phase of a comprehensive headstone inspection in Test Valley will take place at St Mary's Church in Andover between 16 and 18 May.
During this time a small inspection team will be undertaking a safety audit of memorials in the cemetery.
The work will involve testing and, where possible, making safe any memorials that are deemed to be unsafe.
A spokeswoman said: "Every effort will be made to undertake the work discreetly to minimise disturbance to visitors to the cemetery."
She said Test Valley Borough Council was working closely with the Diocese of Winchester to ensure that all cemeteries in the borough were safe and that the environment and heritage of these sites was maintained and protected.
Anyone who may have concerns about the graves of family members should contact Kevin Harrington, Test Valley's parks and countryside manager, on 01264 368815.
