THE season may be effectively over for mid-table Havant but head coach Adam king is hoping to learn more about his squad's character when they host Westcombe Park tomorrow.
It will be a huge test for the Hooks Lane men after the reverse at Cinderford last weekend.
King was not pulling any punches when he assessed the coming game.
"Westcombe Park have some well paid quality performers, hence their results," he said. "But above all else I'm looking for a much improved performance from my 19, and to show the passion that I expect from any player wearing the blue and white shirt.
"However, I can only send out the side, they have to be able to look into the mirror at the end of a game knowing they've given their all for the cause. Precious few could do that last week, and to me that is totally unacceptable and inexcusable.
"It's been a long season, but players must remember it's been a long season for the fans who follow them faithfully week in week out. A lot of them (the players) have been going through the pain barrier for me this season which is a tribute to them."
If they are to take the points from their Kent visitors, Havant must first overcome another injury induced selection headache.
In the second row Al Ramus is struggling with an ear injury, while Lee Appleby is unavailable, so it is likely Graham Butterworth will return to the starting line-up. In the back row, Matt Morgan must pass a fitness test.
Outback Grant Morris is given a chance at nine and Matt O'Shea is on holiday.
