Romsey Junior Hockey Club celebrated the end of a fantastic season with a family fun day recently.
All juniors and their families were invited to take part in a 'for-fun' 7-a-side round robin tournament, followed by a barbecue and awards ceremony on home turf at Romsey Secondary School. Over 70 attended, just managing to squeeze in all their games before the rain came.
The 'Achievement for outstanding contribution to the club' award went to Jess Bonham.
The family fun day also marked Anne Bonham's last season as Romsey HC Junior Co-ordinator, a role she took on eight years ago when she helped found the junior section with just eight under ten-year-olds. Since those early days the junior club has flourished and now boasts more than 70 juniors.
Training has now finished for the season, although many teams still have a match or two to play. Next season will start in early September - all juniors of any ability will be welcome.
