ROBUST employees from a clutch of Hampshire firms huffed and puffed their way through a gruelling truck-pulling competition to raise funds for charity.
Eleven teams from companies based at the Chalcroft business Park in Burnnets Lane, West End took part in the sweat-inducing challenge over the weekend to raise money for Everyman - the male cancer charity.
In mixed teams of five they each heaved huge 18- tonne vehicles along a 50ft stretch while colleagues, friends and family cheered them on from the sidelines.
But there could only be one winner and the combined strength of teammates from business Bouch Nationwide scooped them top position in the contest with a 13.73 second win.
They were closely followed by a team from Boyes Conning Freight Services Ltd - the company organising the event.
A host of other less strenuous activities were also laid on throughout the day including face-painting, a raffle, a sponsored head-shave and a barbecue to raise more than £6,000 for the Everyman charity.
