HAVANT & Waterlooville produced a disappointing result last night when they were held 1-1 at home by lowly Carshalton.
The third-from-bottom visitors played all but four minutes of the second half with 10 men after Marlon Patterson was dismissed for his second bookable offence.
The point moves Havant five points clear of Cambridge City in the fourth and final play-off place.
Patterson's miserable evening had earlier started when he saw his penalty saved by Havant keeper Colin Matthews after Darren Annon was adjudged to have fouled Michael Johnson.
Both goals had come in the opening 11 minutes at Westleigh Park in front of a crowd of 401.
Havant went in front after five minutes when leading marksman Rocky Baptiste headed home a Shea Saunders corner for his 27th goal of the campaign in all competitions.
But Carshalton levelled just six minutes later through Tony Quinton.
