A GANG of youths went on a wrecking spree at a building site at a Southampton school for the second night in a row.
The troublemakers broke into the site guarded by a 7ft high fence at Thornhill Primary School on Byron Road.
The youngsters caused chaos as they smashed all the windows and ripped out the wiring on a dumper truck, excavator and roller machine.
They also ripped off the door to a mobile cabin when they struck on Sunday night. but found there was nothing to steal because it had only just been delivered and was empty.
Workmen discovered the devastation on Monday morning when they reported for duty at the school, where they are constructing a new building.
A new school for children with learning difficulties is being built on playing fields at the Thornhill school in a £11m council shake-up of education for special needs pupils.
The previous evening yobs managed to hot wire a dumper truck and smashed it into the temporary fencing.
They knocked down several sections of the fence which is guarding the building site.
Construction work is being carried out on the school playing fields at the corner of Bursledon Road and Hinkler Road.
Any witnesses should contact PC Jan Griffiths at Bitterne police station on 0845 045 4545.
