YOUNG Mikey Whitehead was the star at the Golden Ring boxing show at St Mary's Sports Centre.
The 11-year-old despatched a slightly older and bigger Zack Parker of Burton on points on Friday night and is being tipped by his coach Stuart Gill for big things if he continues the form he has shown.
Of nine contests on the night Golden Ring fighters won five with young Shann Randell-Khela continuing his rapid rise, beating Balndford's Mikey Ferry who he lost to only the previous week.
Titchfield's Richard Bland stopped Shaun Nailor in the first round while Peter Berney also lost out in four close rounds to George Buckland of Dale Youth.
Making his senior debut, 17-year-old Jamie Fergusson led after three rounds to 22-year-old Mac White-Dowe of the Marvels Lane Club before being KO'd in the fourth.
But big Tom Watson beat Clinton Marshall (Newton) on points.
The night's feature match did not go ahead after up and coming Southampton middleweight Tony Hill withdrew from his fight with Slough's Irfan Malik to allow a hand injury extra time to recover.
