M&T Awbridge too good for Fair Oak
A Tuesday night game littered with loose passes and lacking in real quality got off to a flying start, Mick Newell heading Fair Oak in front from Russell Wiseman's cross after just 3 minutes.
M&T responded quickly, Aaron Burgess equalising from close range after a neat Shane Lewis dink between the visitors' central defenders.
There was no more scoring until just after half-time. Then, two goals in two minutes put Awbridge firmly in the ascendancy.
First, Lewis got away on the right, exchanged passes with Gregg Meehan and popped up in the box to finish off the move. Then, Oak keeper Stuart Ockelford saved a flicked header but could do nothing to prevent the jubilant Dan Cole from beating him with the rebound.
M&T looked to be in charge, but on 63 minutes Newell reduced the arrears with a thumping header from a corner.
The hosts had to endure a nervy ending, Ben Meehan clearing off the line in heroic fashion when Ben Jerram's shot squirmed under the diving Dan Thebe.
But with just two minutes to play, home sub Adam Sherman robbed Dominic Yeandle, broke clear and fired his side's fourth.
