Hursley Park Ladies have won the league and cup double in the South Hants Indoor Cricket League at Fleming Park in Eastleigh.
The six-a-side team were unbeaten in their ten league games, winning the title with two games to spare. Captain Emma McMillan puts this success down to an all-round team effort, "of the six ladies teams we have the greatest depth".
She led by example scoring over 230 runs in the competition, while Jo Marsh adapted brilliantly with some great performances with both bat and gloves.
Sue Cocks and Verity Trutwein added valuable runs at crucial times and showed great commitment in the field, and Jemma Green and Helen Pryer bowled consistently tight overs, taking 26 wickets between them.
Having beaten Southampton University in the cup semi-final, Hursley Park were pitted against St Mary's College in the final.
Put in to bat, Hursley made a great start with McMillan (33) and Green (35no) both retiring at 25. Contributions from lower down the order saw the ten over total reach 139.
In return St Mary's started well with four boundaries in the first two overs. However, accurate bowling from Pryer and McMillan kept their scoring below the required rate.
Trutwein's great pick up and throw to dependable wicket keeper Marsh ran out their number three, and Cocks' catch in the final over ensured that St Mary's fell 34 runs short of the required total.
