A WHITCHURCH dental surgery has decided not to sign the controversial new NHS Dental Contract and another in Andover has signed up for only three months.
The Mid Hants PCT offered the new contracts - which have been severely criticised - to 28 dental practices.
Seven dental practices in the mid Hants area have taken a commercial decision to leave the NHS and have therefore declined the offer of an NHS contract.
The funding for the rejected contracts will be used to replace dentists in areas where dentistry has been lost.
Karen Ashton, director of primary and community care at the PCT, said: "We are delighted that most local dentists, who currently have an NHS commitment, have accepted the contract offered to them and will continue to provide NHS treatment."
According to the PCT, Oasis Dental Care Ltd in Weyhill Road signed for three months while Dr Noel R Moffat Dental Surgeon in Whitchurch declined to sign.
