VISITORS bathed in the sunshine on Saturday on the River Way green at a fete held by The Phoenix Centre.
Young and old enjoyed a bouncy castle, barbecue, fun races, tours of a helicopter and many other attractions. The fete's aim was to bring the community together by showing what The Phoenix Centre is about and also to discover what people want to see in their community centre.
"It was a community fun day and we chatted to all the visitors to get ideas for future events," said Sharon Young-Smith, of The Phoenix Centre. Popular ideas were the creation of girls' and boys' football teams as well as the regular discos.
