KIMPTON, Thruxton and Fyfield CE Primary School has been given a makeover thanks to soldiers from Perham Down.
The soldiers from 3 Armed Engineering Squadron, Royal Engineers, based at the Swinton barracks, spent a week building a new fence at the front of the school after the old one was considered dangerous.
Over the past 18 months, headteacher Jackie Glover has built up a good working relationship with the soldiers which led to their offer.
"We are extremely grateful for this most generous offer to carry out the work," she said.
"And of course, we were delighted to have the hard working soldiers on site for a week, much to the delight of the children and staff," she added.
The soldiers were only too happy to help.
