VILLLAGERS in Hurstbourne Tarr-ant are to be asked what kind of building they want for their new village hall.
In the parish magazine, project chairman Leopold Antelme rep-orts that the design phase of the scheme can now proceed after negotiations led to 'substantial reductions' in the quotations submitted.
But Mr Antelme adds: "We must be quite clear about what we want to build, so it will involve discussions with potential users, similar to those carried out for the feasibility study, but this time we have to consider the design in greater detail and strike a balance between dream wishes and bottom-line req-uirements."
To help them in this the architects have provided a detailed questionnaire to complete relating to each area of the proposed building, and interested individuals and organisations will be deeply involved in the whole process.
"The completed brief will be discussed with the architects and they will then prepare their scheme," writes Mr Antelme. "Meanwhile, the consultants will carry out site and ground surveys, consider mechanical and engineering issues, liaise with gas, electricity and water authorities, and start a detailed cost assessment."
