THE Greenridge Farm Summer Series got off to a fine start with Dwayne Seed winning at the weekend .
He took 94lb 5oz of carp on pellet up in the water over the far shelf from peg 15 on canal two, writes Mark Simmonds.
Graham Tappenden caught 91lb from peg 11 on canal one and Pete Newman was third with 72lb 12oz from peg 14 on canal two.
Others: Paul Sear 66lb 8oz, Mick Kenny 66lb 4oz and Bob Whackrill 56lb 10oz. Series dates: April 15, 22, 29, May 13, 20, 27, June 10, 17, 24, July 8, 15, July 22, July 29, August 12, August 19, August 26, September 9, September 16, September 23, September 30. The first round of three of the Bournemouth Lodge Teams of Four at Orchards Snake Lake at the weekend. was won by John Pole (Raiders Seward) with 78lb 5oz from T Hayward (Lonnies Blues) 72lb 10oz. Steve Nadin (Bournemouth Lodge) was third with 62lb 8oz.
Others: Mr Kendal (Lonnies Blues) 60lb 12oz, Nick King (Raiders Seward) 59lb 5oz, Steve Hemming (Bournemouth Lodge A) 58lb 10oz. Team points on the day: Bournemouth Lodge A 16, Raiders Seward 15, Lonnies Blues 14, Bournemouth Lodge B 10,d Lonnies Green 5. The next two rounds will be on May 28 and June 4.
Pete Newman was a clear winner with 71lb 11oz of carp on the pole from canal three when Cormorants fished a match at Greenridge at the weekend. Dave Hambidge took 58lb 12oz from canal one, Steve Pomery was third with 52lb 4oz from canal two.
Others Steve Bucksey 50lb, Terry Sergeant 42lb 7oz and Pete Frasier 40lb 8oz.
The Thursday Evening Series on Stoneham saw Rich Allen win with 33lb of skimmers and crucians on pole and maggot from peg 40. Mick Aldis took 26lb (three carp and some tench for 26lb) and third on 25lb was Stuart Halliday.
Others: Paul White 18lb, Dwayne Seed 17lb and Dave Self 15lb.
Junior Richard Self (Eastleigh) fished The Whiteacres Junior Festival and won his section on the first day with 43lb from Trelawney Lake. He followed it up with a fifth in his section on the second day with 38lb from Jennies Lake and finished eighth overall in the festival.
