NO wonder Westwood's under-11 footballers are celebrating - they've just won their club's first major trophy.
Westwood needed only a draw in their final Southampton Tyro League Division 5 game of the season to win the league.
But, had they lost to Eastleigh, the visitors would have won the championship.
As it was, Westwood didn't play for the draw - instead, they romped to a 6-1 victory, with Thomas Gage, who has belted over 40 goals this season, leading the title charge with a hat-trick.
Left midfielder Dillon Smith weighed in with a brace and sub Callum Rogers completed the scoring.
Westwood's success has been even more impressive in that they had never played a league game before this season.
Manager Matt Standing, whose side is made up of players from the Sholing, Weston and Woolston areas of Southampton, explained: "We couldn't get into the Eastleigh & District mini league last season because they had too many teams.
"So we just played friendlies.
"I knew we had some good players, though, and when we went in at Division 5 level I thought we had a good chance of doing well.
"Hopefully we'll go up a few divisions next season."
Standing added: "All the lads have done well this season.
"Thomas Gage is the leading scorer while his strike partner, Jimmy King, has had some good games.
"The midfield all did well last Sunday against Eastleigh. That was where we won the game.
"Dillon Smith scored twice while Reece Standing, McKenzie New and Lewis Naysmith completed the midfield.
"At the back Kieran Zanoletti has done well as sweeper with Nathan Goodyear alongside him, and Ryan Ashrafian has done well in goal.
"The club was only formed two years ago and we've only got three teams.
"This is the first time the club has won anything really."
Westwood also enjoyed a good run in the Hampshire Under-11 Cup, reaching the fourth round before losing to Littleton.
