Sir.-I feel compelled to write following some almost unbelieveable events that I have witnessed over the past few weeks.
I have been recovering from shoulder surgery, carried out by the excellent Ward D5 team at Basingstoke hospital, and as a result have spent much of the last six weeks being chauffered around by my wife and others.
This has enabled me to view such wonders as other drivers using their indicators, turning left with the apparent need for an almighty swerve to the right, and I have even managed to travel almost two miles without counting at least a dozen drivers using a mobile phone in their left hand trying to conceal it from view.
Now, if only I had also managed to spot a community warden - that would indeed have made it a time of miracles.
