VILLAGE Club: We are putting together our programme for next winter.

If you have any ideas on what we should be staging, please call me.

I now have the Hog the Limelight programme and, if you would like to comment on the best events, please call.

We will also be looking to book John Pilkington for another of his travel sagas, but need more support than we had last time.

70s QUIZ: Is it a quiz for the over-70s or a quiz about the 70s?

Whichever, this event will take place in the Scout Hut on Saturday, April 22, in aid of the Busy Bees Pre-School.

For more details, call Emma Hartley on 287576.

VILLAGE plan: By now you should have received the draft village plan. If not, call Alan Denness on 298376.

There is nothing sinister about it coming with the Conservative election manifesto. They offered to deliver for us, saving about £500.

This is an important document as it sets out the things we should be planning to do in the Kingsclere parish over the next 10 years.

All comments are very welcome - write to or call the parish office or e-mail me at pwoodman@iqnet works.co.uk

Some of the actions have already been completed, as they were worth doing before the whole thing is submitted for acceptance.

NEW Zealand: The Kingsclere and Ecchinswell WI is having an illustrated talk by Cathy Cox about her kayaking holiday in New Zealand.

This takes place on Thursday, April 27, at the Village Club, at 7.30pm.

Tickets in advance only from 299207. Non-members are welcome, at a cost of £2.50, members £1.
