REFUSE collection: If you have been wondering if the days have changed, then you are right - they have.

Because of the local government strike on March 28, collections have slipped a day.

For more information, go to www.hart.gov.uk and follow the links to look at refuse collection. Alternatively, you can call 01252 844915.

crime: Luckily for Hook we have a very low crime rate.

The most frequent crime is laptops being stolen from cars parked in residential areas and pub car parks.

However, trends are changing and thieves have now moved from laptops to satellite navigation systems.

This is especially prevalent in the station car park - so if you have a portable sat nav, take it with you.

DANCING: The next Strictly Dancing course will start on Friday, April 21, at the Community Centre.

This will be the improver/ intermediate class, which will start at 8.15pm.

To book a place, contact Michele on 762638 or at mich ele@stvince.freeserve.co.uk

The next complete beginner course will start on Thursday, May 11.

ROADWORKS: These continue along the A30 as the footpaths are gradually being relaid.

If you are lucky enough to live on the A30, then you will at least have a few blissful days when the road is closed but the roadworks haven't started.
