COASTGUARDS were involved in the rescue of two men in separate incidents over the Bank Holiday weekend.
A pensioner suffered head injuries after falling 15ft down steps on a cliff yesterday.
Police and paramedics were also involved in rescuing the man who is thought to have fallen down steps near to cliffs at Netley Abbey near to a block of flats called the Towers.
The emergency services were called in around 10.30am yesterday. Rescuers were able to reach the 70-year-old using a path from a nearby private beach.
The man was taken to the Southampton General Hospital with a head wound and suspected spinal injuries.
Calshot search and rescue were called out to help rescue a man who had fallen through a pier at Marchwood on Sunday night.
The man, 46, had managed to get onto the pier at Marchwood Sailing Club that was closed off and was being renovated.
It appeared the man was trying to using planks of wood to walk across the pier when he fell several feet to the pontoon below.
Despite efforts by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service they were not able to reach the man and called in the coastguards.
He was eventually rescued and taken to Southampton General Hospital suffering suspected broken ribs
