EASTER visitors to the New Forest had something to get steamed up about.
Hundreds of nostalgia fans flocked to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum to enjoy the sights and smells of a three-day steam fair.
However, the event could turn out to be one of the last staged at the popular attraction near New Milton.
As reported in the Daily Echo, the nationally renowned museum could close if it loses a planning battle with the district council.
The authority has refused to renew temporary planning permission for two shops at the complex.
Mr Miller has lodged an appeal with government planners, saying the craft shop and beauticians provide the cash-starved museum with vital income. The ex-trials rider, one of Britain's best-known sportsmen in the 1950s, has threatened to shut the complex if his appeal is dismissed.
