PUPILS at schools across Hampshire will be the first in the country to benefit from a new education partnership.
Councillor David Kirk, Hampshire County Council's executive member for education, has given the go-ahead for an agreement between the county council and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, which will encourage a whole host of new opportunities for pupils.
The trust, part-funded by the DfES, is the leading national body for secondary education in England, delivering the Government's Specialist Schools and Academies programme.
Under the new agreement, all schools will benefit with the introduction of specialist courses in technology, sport and other subject areas.
Cllr Kirk said: "This innovative partnership will ensure that schools in Hampshire can develop their resources and staff expertise to offer pupils and the wider community the very best in education opportunities and experiences."
